In His Dreams He Runs is the title track and first single from Tim Hawkes’ forthcoming eight-song album. Written in tribute to Jeff Morrison, Tim’s longtime friend, songwriting partner and accomplished visual artist, the song honours a life defined by artistic expression, resilience and an unwavering determination to embrace life on his own terms.

Tim and Jeff shared a creative partnership that spanned decades, producing a body of original music shaped by their friendship and shared artistic sensibilities. The forthcoming album brings this work together with Jeff’s visual art, celebrating the enduring connection between the two disciplines that defined his creative life.

The title track takes its inspiration from a recurring dream Jeff experienced in which he would run freely towards the sun, across a beach or through an open field. After an accident at 19 left him using a wheelchair, Jeff continued to pursue his artistic ambitions with remarkable determination. For Tim, this dream became a powerful expression of Jeff’s spirit and an evocative starting point for a song that captures the essence of his friend.

Following Jeff’s passing, Tim found it difficult to revisit the music they had created together. In time, however, the desire to honour their friendship and preserve Jeff’s creative legacy became the driving force behind the project. Working with producer Trevor Titian, Tim began shaping the recordings into an album that brings their shared musical history to a wider audience.

While rooted in remembrance, In His Dreams He Runs ultimately looks towards hope, celebrating the transformative power of creativity and the enduring value of a life well lived. Through music and visual art, the project offers a lasting tribute to Jeff Morrison and an opportunity for new audiences to discover his work, his perspective and the remarkable spirit that continues to resonate through it.

The album is currently scheduled for release in December 2026.
